Biography
Anna Twinam-Cauchi has been creating sculptures in wood and other materials for over ten years.
She is a graduate of Fine Art at Canterbury College of Art. She
has also gained a higher national diploma in woodcarving/sculpture from Kennington
Art School.
Her work responds to and is inspired by the site that the
work is placed in. she has worked in carved sculpture for over ten years and
has worked in a number of materials including wood, stone and carved
books.
Her work has included a number of public commissions. She
prefers to produce works for public and private spaces where people can touch
the works.
RESIDENCES,
PRIZES AND BURSARIES
1999 South East Arts/Brighton & Hove City Council
funding for international sculpture event in Denmark.
1992-1993 Artist in residence : Centre for Human Ecology, Edinburgh University recycled paper and book carving.
TEACHING
Anna has taught at a variety of levels including primary, summer schools
and further education. She has both taught and worked on collaborative pieces.
2005 Teaching programme for Ropetackle Project.
2004 Two day workshop with local schools at Buchan Country Park,
Crawley, West Sussex.
2000 Weald Wood Fair chainsaw sculpture demonstration.
